Known as “La Chula”, Tania Enriquez began boxing at the age of 11 following in the footsteps of her older sister Kenia Enriquez, the three-time world champion and current WBC interim flyweight champion. After nearly 100 amateur fights, Tania jumped into the paid ranks in late 2013 with a 1st round TKO of Dulce Galaviz.
A tall southpaw, Enriquez captured Mexico’s national title at flyweight in only her 7th fight over Brenda Ramos. in early 2020 she stopped Elizabeth Lopez Corso for the WBC International light flyweight title and in 2023 the then ranked #1 Tijuana native traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to challenge the former unified world champion Everlyn Bermudez for the vacant IBF and WBO 108lbs titles. After ten grueling rounds, Bermudez was awarded a highly contested and controversial split decision win.
Moving forward, Enriquez is in pursuit of another title challenge at light flyweight before moving up the 112-pound weight division.
