Paulette “Heredera” Cuesta vs Susy Kandy Sandoval Set to Finally Clash

Three-time world title challenger Paulette “Heredera” Cuesta and Susy Kandy Sandoval has been officially rescheduled and is now set to take place at the Arena Tecate in Tijuana, Baja California, on Saturday, October 25th.  The eight-round bantamweight bout promises an action-packed night as two of Mexico’s most determined female fighters finally meet in the ring once again.

Originally slated for September 20th, the matchup was postponed because Cuesta fell ill, rendering her unable to receive the final medical clearance in time.

Cuesta (17-5-1, 4KO) of Tijuana, Baja California, is best known for her come forward style which has led for her to face-off three times for world titles. In her first opportunity, Cuesta challenged Segolene Lefebvre for the WBO super bantamweight world title in 2021 while in 2023 she faced off against WBC 122lb world champion Yamileth Mercado and in 2024 she traveled to Argentina to fight WBA super bantamweight world champion Nazarena Romero.

In her last fight, Cuesta fought to a draw against former WBC super flyweight champion Guadalupe “Lupita” Martinez in July.  Sandoval (10-22, 2KO) of Torreon, Coahuila, has faced a who’s who of Mexico’s toughest female fighters in a nearly 20-year career such as Zulina Muñoz, Yesica Nery Plata, Yazmin Rivas, Arely Mucino, Irma Garcia, Lourdes Juarez and Yessica Chavez.

Cuesta and Sandoval faced each other once before in April of 2021 where Cuesta took a closely contested six rounder.

The event is promoted by Baja Boxing and will include an exciting undercard featuring rising regional talent from across Baja California. Tickets will be available at the Arena Tecate box office on fight night, and fans around the world can watch live via YouTube.com/BajaBoxing.
