Former Boxing World Champion Kenia Enriquez Stays Undefeated in MMA

Former 3-Time boxing world champion Kenia “Mexican Queen” Enriquez (28-1, 11KO Boxing, 2-0 MMA) remained undefeated in MMA with a spectacular knockout win over Hannah Brobyskov last July 17th in Miami, Florida. The 3 round Main Event closed out the Combate Global fight card broadcast live on YouTube.com.

Enriquez of Tijuana, Mexico, made her debut in MMA with Combate Global last March with an impressive showing against formerly undefeated Hayley Valentine of the UK taking a unanimous decision after dropping the Brit four times. In Brobyskov, Enriquez faced off against more of a striker than Valentine who is a brown belt in Jujitsu.

Coming into the fight with a two and half month fight camp in Guadalajara, Mexico, under the watchful eye of her trainer Carlos “Goku” Arana, Enriquez walked into La Jaula with a lot more skills than in her first fight. Kenia controlled the action with hard jabs combined with even harder right hands. Enriquez added a number of low kicks to her repertoire as well as sporadic push kicks to the left knee of Brobyskov (0-2 MMA). Brobyskov, of Seattle, Washington, had some success with her longer reach with a number of jabs but was not able to drop down Enriquez to the floor to test her ground game.

The end came at 3:45 of round 2 of a scheduled three when Enriquez landed a hard left hook to the body of Brobyskov followed with a hard right hand to the chin. The body blow stunned Brobyskov to the point she stood for split second with her hands down. Enriquez noticing her opponent was hurt released a barrage of punches prompting the third man in La Jaula to stop the action.
